Our resident Remixer/Producer DJ Scary Bodega will be working with his IT staff to correct a few problems this weekend. When this is handled please look for remixes on our A/V page. In coming weeks please watch for remixes of tracks from our album committed by various Chicago personalities. We also have a show coming up with Emperor Penguin at the Empty Bottle on St. Patrick's Day. CHICAGO: Our server did overheat in Milwaukee but did not crash, which is a goddamn good thing because our IT staff was not there with us. Like so many these days, Sixto Inc. has had to make some "tough decisions" and cut back on staff. Sorry Darryl, Ned, Gary, and Tina. We still appreciate your hard work. Keep the uniforms. The flight to Milwaukee was uneventful aside from the fact that our piolt was obviously drunk and the plane was equipped with an 8-track player. On the way back we encountered some dodgy weather and had to emergency land in Michigan City. How we ended up on that side of the lake, I don't understand. Our return flight pilot was sober albeit an open eccentric. He arrived on the tarmac wearing a satin smoking jacket and smoking a pipe that had to be at least 14 inches long. He called everyone "chum". The lights in the plane's cabin were shorted out, but Matt had thought to bring his wind-up Victorola phonograph player. So, we sat in the dark and enjoyed favorites by the likes of Jelly Roll Morton and Clayton Howell whilst sipping Olde English and breathing the pilot's Turkish Blend. In michigan city, we hit one casino and one strip joint. I lost $47.23 and Wig had this photo taken with a dancer. I got home at 9 in the morning to find the cats had broken all of my windows and the place was filled with bats and sparrows. There goes my heating bill.

From a baby name guide:
Sixto Your name of Sixto gives you a clever mind, good business judgment, a sense of responsibility, and an appreciation of the finer things of life. You are serious-minded and not inclined to make light of things even in little ways, and in your younger years you had more mature interests than others your age. Home and family mean a great deal to you and it is natural that you should desire the security of a peaceful, settled home environment where you can enjoy the companionship of family and friends. Whatever you set out to accomplish you do your very best to complete in accordance with what you consider to be right. In the home you assume your responsibilities capably, having the self-confidence to form your own opinions and make your own decisions. Others can rely on you; once you have given your word you will do your utmost to fulfil a responsibility. However, there is a tendency to be a little too independent in your thinking and it is difficult for you to accept the help of others when you should. Due to your strong sense of responsibility, you could experience worry and mental turmoil through assuming more responsibility than you should. Friction could arise through others feeling that you were interfering with their rights and privileges, even though you are only trying to help.

Our webmaster, Chauncey, has added some items to the photo archive and a live MP3 to the A/V archive. Much thanks to him.

Thanks to all who came out to the Fireside show. As always the Fireside treated us as the older distinguished fellows that we are. Water damage to equipment was held at a minimum and we managed to work our way through two new songs. All in all it's just nice to be back in the states where we can determine whether a cat call is truly an insult or just takes the tone of an insult. Barring the unforeseen we are playing on WNUR's Airplay show tomorrow afternoon. The show airs from 4-6 PM CT, I believe, and can be listened to at 89.3 on your FM dial in the Chicago area or via the web at http://www.wnur.org.

CHICAGO: Stateside again. We played with the Paperbacks at the Fireside last night. Quite a time. The Paperbacks are an exemplary outfit that smite with a mighty rock n' roll gauntlet. Reg of sometime Seam fame plays bass. Additionally they are composed of two guitars, drums, and an electrifying mad woman with beautiful mane of tremendous flowing hair and dark-framed spectacles. It is refreshing to see that many pairs of well-fit black jeans and boots all in one place. They rock bells the old fashioned way and when I woke up this morning, I slicked down the hair on either side of my head with three types of gel. The Paperbacks kick ass and I really look forward to seeing them/playing shows with them again. On Monday, the 19th of February, they will play on a huge bill at the Empty Bottle. I, for one, fully intend to present. We did not suffer the barrage of technical mayhem last night that we were subject to abroad. The server churned along, happy and cool behind the drum kit and our IT guy enjoyed the set in leisure. It was raining in the Fireside last night, which is common. There was really no excessive leakage on stage but one of the video screens broke loose, careened in a graceful arc, and whacked Wig in the back of the head. Without missing a beat, he was propelled forward, brow to tom rim, shiny new Redwing boots tossed above tea-kettle level behind him. He snapped back upright and spewed a stream of blood across his drum kit. This turned out well because it happened exactly at the moment Matt spat out a ball of fire. I saw him reach for the grill lighter just as the screen fell from the ceiling. It coordinated nicely. Later, as we were breaking down the gear, I looked at the blood drying on the drum heads and I thought could recognize a scene from Dante's Purgatorio formed in the clots and stains like a woodcutting. I pointed it out to Wig, he could only see Red Fox and nothing else. We have commissioned John 13 to start building a beta group of robot sixto-fans for us. Just to be sporting, we decided to include a "cat-call" setting for each robot in addition to "unmitigated adulation" and "seizure-inducing awe". We will be playing live on WNUR tomorrow (Saturday) at 4pm.
We will be playing on Friday, 2/16 at the Empty Bottle with Sweep the Leg Johnny and Hero of 100 Fights.
We will be playing on Saturday 2/17 at the Globe in Milwaukee with Sweep the Leg Johnny and Hero of 100 Fights.
